Graeme and Suzanne Lunney conceived the idea for Four Winds in 1997, planting the first vines in ’98, moving to the property full-time in ’99, and making the first vintage in 2000. Daughter Sarah looks after events and promotions, and youngest daughter Jaime, complete with a degree in Forensic Biology, has joined Graeme in the winery. She brings with her several years’ experience with the former Kamberra winery, and three vintages in the Napa Valley. Suzanne tends the gardens and the 100 rose bushes at the end of the vine rows.

The first vines were planted at Four Winds Vineyard in 1998 by Graeme and Suzanne Lunney. It is now a family affair with daughters Jaime making the wines, Sarah doing the marketing with son-in-law John managing the vineyard. Jaime started out with a forensic biology degree, but quickly swapped working in a pathology lab for a wine-making lab at the Kamberra Wine Making Complex. When Kamberra was sold by the Hardy’s Wine Group she took the opportunity to travel and work in California’s Napa Valley where she worked in the exclusive Gargulio Winery. She worked there for two vintages before she returned to Four Winds for the 2009 vintage.
You can see what is going on in the vineyard and the winery through a series of regular video blogs.
