Our Review
Lake George Winery, a dry-grown site on what was once the Westering vineyard, celebrated its 50th vintage in ’23. There’s a sense of rejuvenation and renewal thanks to the dedication of owner Sarah McDougall. In ’18, she and her late husband Anthony took ownership and set about improving the growing practices, eschewing herbicides and embracing sustainability. 'All the magic happens in the vineyard and if you grow really beautiful fruit, then making the wine comes easily,' Sarah says. Better vineyard management has been stepped up thanks to the input of consultant viticulturist Thomas Lefebvre. Anthony died in ’22 and Sarah wants to continue his legacy of caring for the land. There are lots of options to choose from with six different houses. We have four tiny homes on the property for a great night away. You can also stay at the Winery Home, which sleeps up to 13. It includes amazing views across the vineyard with a hot tub on the deck. Bookings through Airbnb.
