Hungerford Hill, sold by Southcorp to the Kirby family in 2002, emerged with its home base at the impressive winery previously known as One Broke Road. The development of the One Broke Road complex proved wildly uneconomic, and the rationalisation process has resulted in Hungerford Hill becoming the sole owner. The quality of the wines has seen production rise from 20 000 cases to 50 000 cases, reversing the pattern under prior Southcorp ownership. As the notes indicate, Hungerford Hill now focuses its attention on Tumbarumba and the Hunter Valley, with some wines coming from the Hilltops region. Exports to all major markets.

Under the guidance of Chief Winemaker, Michael Hatcher, Hungerford Hill embraces contemporary winemaking blended with history, talent and experience. Paying particular attention to the diversity of regional characteristics, Michael has put his personal stamp on Hungerford Hill’s portfolio of quality wines. Hungerford Hill’s award-winning wines include Hunter Valley Semillon and Shiraz, cool climate Tumbarumba Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and Hilltops Cabernet Sauvignon.
Hungerford Hill’s home is in the world famous Hunter Valley, Australia’s oldest wine region. The winery, designed by renowned architect Walter Barda incorporates a spectacular barrel-shaped tasting room and the acclaimed Muse Restaurant and Cafe, while concealed underground is the working cellar.
