The Lusby family has established shiraz (2.2 ha), sangiovese (1.6 ha), merlot (1.32 ha), semillon (1.2 ha) and cabernet sauvignon (0.2 ha) on a northeast-facing slope with red clay and limestone soil. Tintilla was the first winery to plant sangiovese in the Hunter Valley (1995). The family has also planted an olive grove producing four different types of olives, which are cured and sold from the estate.

Tintilla Estate is an enticing, family vineyard that is passionate about the unique character of Hunter wines and seek to deliver individual, hand crafted wines that reflect the Pokolbin terroir. Wines made at Tintilla include classic Hunter Semillon, barrel fermented Chardonnay, a long lasting, traditional Hunter Shiraz as well as a renowned Merlot. We have pioneered the Italian varietal Sangiovese, in the Hunter producing a Rosato di Jupiter, a Saphira Sangiovese and the Catherine de’M blend, a marriage of Sangiovese and Merlot. Two modern Spritzanti styled wines; The Lizzie and Rossie are also extremely popular with young wine drinkers.Dont miss our Olives, Verjus and condements
