Penfolds Magill Estate

This is the birthplace of Penfolds, established by Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold in 1844. His house is still part of the immaculately maintained property that includes 5.2ha of precious shiraz vines used to make Magill Estate Shiraz and the original and subsequent winery buildings, most still in operation or in museum condition. In May 2015 Penfolds unveiled the redevelopment of Magill Estate with the opening of a new cellar door (where visitors can taste Grange by the glass) and Magill Estate Kitchen, a casual dining environment with a grazing menu built on local and fresh ingredients and meant for sharing.
