James' Review

Peter, Michael and Richard Basedow are the three Brothers Basedow (as they call them- selves), fifth-generation Barossans with distinguished forefathers. Grandfather Oscar Basedow established the Basedow winery (no longer in family ownership) in 1896, while Martin Basedow established the Roseworthy Agricultural College. Their father, John Oscar Basedow, died in the 1970s, having won the 1970 Jimmy Watson Trophy for his ’69 Cabernet Sauvignon, a high point for the family. As well as retaining consultant winemaker Rob Gibson, the brothers constructed a winery in the old Vine Vale Primary School property in 2008, the schoolrooms the location for a cellar door. Exports to the US, Canada, Sweden, Denmark, India, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Japan and China.
