It’s not often that the first release from a new winery is priced at $100 per bottle, but that was precisely what Reschke Wines achieved with its 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon. The family has been a landholder in Coonawarra for 100 years, with a large holding that is partly terra rossa, part woodland. Cabernet sauvignon (with 108 ha) takes the lion’s share of the plantings, with merlot, shiraz and petit verdot making up the balance. Exports to the UK, Canada, Germany, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Japan.
