The definitive guide to Australian Wines
DOWIE DOOLE was founded in 1995 by Drew Dowie and Norm Doole. They had been connected to McLaren Vale community for many years and are renowned grape growers in the region. In 2011 Brian Light passed the winemaking baton to his long-time prot?g? Chris Thomas. Chris proudly continues the tradition of making outstanding wines from the Dowie and Doole estate vineyards. Vineyard management is led by champions of sustainable viticulture practices Dave Gartlemann and Drew Dowie. In May ?16, with winemaker and managing director Chris Thomas leading a group of like-minded investors, DOWIE DOOLE acquired the 35ha of vines on the 53ha Conte Tatachilla Vineyard book-ended by 50 year-old bush vine grenache and recently grafted (?12) vermentino, aglianico and lagrein. Exports to all major markets.
