Ortus Wines

While Ortus was not established until September 2011, its family history dates back to 1848 and the arrival of Johann Gottlieb Bittner from Prussia; the owner of Ortus, Julie Cooper, is a descendant of Johann. She has more than 15 years' experience in the winery industry working for small through to large multinational companies in sales and marketing. Ortus purchases grapes from Tasmania,the Barossa Valley, Riverland, Coonawarra and McLaren Vale, producing three tiers of wines for both domestic and international markets. The wines are made in various wineries under the direction of Julie's daughter, Paige Cooper. Exports to Canada, Sweden, Korea and China. -JAMES HALLIDAY
