Andrew (Rew) and Prue O?Shanesy lived on a small cattle and cropping farm in Qld, but they realised it wasn?t a viable stand-alone business. They sold it, and had no idea what to do next. Northern Territory? A coffee plantation at Byron Bay? Then someone mentioned that a vineyard was for sale in northern Tasmania. Look no further: Rew is a viticulturist and both love drinking wine. In the blink of an eye they were heading across Bass Strait ?with the ute, two cattle dogs, a horse and a prissy cat?. They started working on a budget for a vineyard, trying to make the budget tell them what they wanted to hear. They eventually tore up the budget, took the plunge and bought Glendale, the little farm they now call home. They now have three dogs, two horses, the prissy cat, a couple of chooks, some sheep, a few cows and a baby boy called Angus. Joanie was Rew?s mother, an inspiring, vivacious, creative and strong woman.
