Pondalowie Vineyards

Dominic and Krystina Morris both have strong winemaking backgrounds gained in Australia, France and Portugal, where Dominic worked alternate vintages from 1995 to 2012. They have established 5.5ha of shiraz, 2ha each of tempranillo and cabernet sauvignon, and a little malbec at Bridgewater on Loddon in Central Victoria. They are also establishing a cool-climate vineyard at Bambra in the Otways (primarily MV6 pinot noir, with some 667 and 115 clones). Incidentally, the illustration on the Pondalowie label is not a piece of barbed wire, but a very abstract representation of the winery kelpie dog. -JAMES HALLIDAY
