Bernard and Elizabeth Hooley purchased Oakdene in 2001. Bernard focused on planting the vineyard (shiraz, pinot gris, sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, chardonnay, merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon), while Elizabeth worked to restore the 1920s homestead. Ray Nadeson makes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz; Robin Brockett makes the Sauvignon Blanc. Much of the wine is sold through the award-winning Oakdene Restaurant and cellar door.

Established in 2001 on 93 hectares of coastal farmland, Oakdene's boutique vineyard, award winning restaurant and cellar door is located in Wallington (near Ocean Grove) on the Bellarine Peninsula, approximately 20kms east of Geelong and 90kms South of Melbourne. The region enjoys a cool, maritime climate moderating the weather patterns, resulting in a long cool growing season, producing low yields of high quality fruit.
Oakdene specialises in the varieties best suited to the region, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc and the range includes both still and sparkling wines. The wines are elegant, complex and reflect the true varietal character of our region.
