The 2 ha of chardonnay, pinot noir, pinot gris and shiraz at Lochmoore are tended by one of the most highly qualified viticulturists one is ever likely to meet. Sue Hasthorpe grew up in Trafalgar, and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science (Hons) and Doctor of Philosophy in Physiology at the University of Melbourne; she then worked and travelled as a medical research scientist in Australia, the UK, the US and Europe, and after returning to Australia studied viticulture via the University of Melbourne, Dookie College campus (distance education). If this were not enough, she has now completed a Masters of Agribusiness at the University of Melbourne.
