Armstrong Vineyards is the brain- or love-child of Tony Royal, former Seppelt (Great Western) winemaker, former CEO of Seguin Moreau Australia, and now CEO and joint owner of Portavin Integrated Wine Services. Armstrong Vineyards has 6.7 ha of shiraz, the first 2 ha planted in 1989, the remainder in ’95–96. Low yields (4.5–5.5 tonnes per ha) mean the wine will always be produced in limited quantities. Exports to the UK, Hong Kong and China.
