Perth-born Adam Richardson began his winemaking career in 1995, along the way working for Normans, d’Arenberg and Oakridge Estate. Since that time he has been appointed Director of Global Winemaking for the international premium wines division of The Wine Group, the third-largest producer in the US. He is responsible for an annual production of more than five million cases from Argentina, Australia, Austria, California, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, NZ, Oregon, Spain, South Africa and Washington. In 2005 he put down small roots in the Grampians region, acquiring a vineyard with shiraz from old clones from the 19th century, and riesling. Until early ’10 all of his wines were exported to the US, but the ’09 Shirazs and ’10 Riesling are now being sold in Australia. They are exceptionally good wines, but given his experience and the quality of the vineyard, that should not come as a surprise. Exports to the US.
