Draws upon a considerable number of vineyards spread throughout a range of site climates, ranging from very warm to very cool. A relatively recent expansion into Heathcote has added significantly to its armoury. It is known for the diversity of varieties with which it works, and the wines represent good value for money. Deservedly one of the most successful family wineries – its cellar door receives the greatest number of visitors in Australia. In 2010 Brown Brothers took a momentous step, acquiring Tasmania’s Tamar Ridge for $32.5 million. It is intended that there will be no changes to Tamar Ridge until all of the opportunities and possible synergies have been carefully considered. Exports to all major markets.

Located at Milawa in north eastern Victoria, Brown Brothers is a family-owned winery that produced its first vintage in 1889. Our vineyards, located throughout Victoria, have been carefully chosen to produce diverse wine styles. Within a 50km radius of Milawa, climatic conditions range from cool alpine areas to lush temperate valleys to sun-drenched plains.
When you visit our Cellar Door, you are presented with possibly the largest range of wine varieties at any cellar door in Australia. We encourage people to try new taste sensations, and this has enabled Brown Brothers to become a leader in the development of new wine varieties in Australia.
Brown Brothers has a mini-winery, the Kindergarten, dedicated to assessing new winemaking techniques, reassessing traditional methods, exploring new vineyard sites, wine styles and varieties, and feeding back information to the company's Viticulture and Marketing teams. Many of these experimental wines have now become widely available - wines such as Barbera, Dolcetto, Moscato and Tarrango were all initially trialed in the Kindergarten. Brown Brothers continues to lead Australia in producing innovative and exctiting new wines.
