This is the venture of Anton Therkildsen and wife Antoinette Del Popolo. They acquired the property in 2001, and in ’02 began the planting of shiraz (1.6 ha) and durif (0.9 ha). They intend to expand the vineyard with marsanne, viognier, grenache, mourvedre and riesling, reflecting their primary interest in the wines of the Rhône Valley. For the time being, they are relying on contract-grown grapes to develop these wine styles. The straw-bale winery was built in 2007, underlining their desire for sustainable viticulture and biodiversity, with minimal use of sprays and annual planting of cover crops between the rows. A worm farm and the composting of grape skins and stalks completes the picture.
