Les and Wendy Oates have established the Growlers Gully vineyard (shiraz, cabernet sauvig- non, viognier and sauvignon blanc) at an elevation of 375 m on fertile brown clay loam soil. A rammed-earth cellar door sales outlet offers light meals and barbecue facilities. No harvest in 2007 due to smoke taint.
