A 6ha lake created in a gully ravaged by bushfires gave the name. In 1998 Mike Peterkin of Pierro purchased it, and manages the vineyard in conjunction with former owners Ellis and Margaret Butcher. He regards the Fire Gully wines as entirely separate from those of Pierro: the plantings are cabernet sauvignon, merlot, shiraz, semillon, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, viognier and chenin blanc. Exports to all major markets.
