Although the smallest Australian state, Tasmania produce some of our finest wines, and these charming cellar doors are dedicated to showcasing just that.


Clover Hill Cellar Door

Situated at the peak of the valley, inspiring views overlook the glistening vineyards, and along with the earthy colours and tactile materials that welcome in the outdoor environment, their friendly and knowledgeable staff are happy to guide you through their collections. Sparkling wines aside (being Clover Hills most prominent styles) their Idiom collection is their still range, and cannot be missed.

Perfect for: Relishing in utter luxury, both in scenery and wine, of one of Tasmania's finest wineries. Open during summer daily from 10am to 4:30pm, and during winter closed Mondays, open 11am to 4.30pm (Tuesday to Thursday), and 10.30am to 4.30pm (Friday to Sunday).

Holm Oak

Holm Oak’s cellar door yields a rustic charm, to all that adventure off the beaten track and discover it. Situated amidst breathtaking vineyards, taste whatever it is you desire that visit, whether that be dry and sweet, light and full-bodied, or contemporary drops completely different from the rest. A complimentary tasting will mark your greeting, while many enjoy their wine flight pinot noir tasting that provides an in-depth exploration of a particular style of vintage. Curate your own food platter, picking from a range of local produce, select your preferred wine, and indulge on the deck, sensory garden, or picnic rug all afternoon.

Perfect for: Adventuring through Tasmania and discovering hidden gems as Holm Oak. Open from 11am to 5pm (September to May), and from 11am to 4pm (June to August).

On pour: Riesling, arneis, pinot gris, chardonnay, pinot noir, cabernet franc, shiraz, cabernet merlot.

Pipers Brook Vineyard

Nestled in the heartland of this magnificent wine country lives Pipers Brook Vineyards. Not only are they home to some of Australia’s most sought after wines, but their pinot noir, pinot grigio, and sparkling are often named the must-try bottles of the state. Wander through the historic vines, on a self-tour through the land, and when you’re done, reward your senses with a glass (or two) of their estate-grown examples. Freycinet Vineyards

The fruits are handled delicately from the vineyards, and then hand crafted into premium, single vineyard wines, parading the intricacies of the particular land they call home. Pooley Wines Cellar Door

Pooley Wines

Whether it be a casual wine sipping you’re after, or an informative affair guided through many varieties, Pooley Wine’s boutique cellar door will ensure you’re at ease and in the best of company. Being the only third generation family wine company of Tasmania, guests are welcomed to their heritage-listed Belmont property in Richmond, where the wines poured are raised between two thriving vineyards, just 12 kilometres apart. Along with a desirable glass of some of Tasmania’s finest, enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere, casual lunch of woodfired pizzas (from Friday to Sunday) and premier platters available seven days a week. 

Perfect for: Enjoying an entire day at this charming estate, and finishing many woodfired pizzas. Open daily from 10am to 5pm.
