Cassegrain has continued to evolve and develop. It still draws on the original Hastings River vineyard of 4.9ha, where the most important varieties are semillon, verdelho and chambourcin, with pinot noir and cabernet sauvignon making up the numbers. However, Cassegrain also part-owns and manages Richfield Vineyard in the New England region, with 30ha of chardonnay, verdelho, semillon, shiraz, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and ruby cabernet. Grapes are also purchased from Tumbarumba, Orange, Hilltops, Mudgee and the Hunter Valley. Exports to Japan, China and other major markets.
The Cassegrain family began winemaking in France in 1643, and for over 30 years we have combined our heritage of French grape growing and winemaking traditions with Australian technology to produce wines that are authentic to style, full flavoured, yet soft and elegant. Based in Port Macquarie, NSW we source grapes from NSW exclusively and we maintain a full-suite production facility - from crushing to bottling/labelling and distribution. We export throughout Asia and entertain enquiries globally.
