James' Review

The Schrapel family has been growing grapes in the Barossa Valley for over 140 years, their winery nestled high on a hillside on the site of an old bluestone quarry. Geoff and Rob Schrapel produce a range of consistently well made and attractively packaged wines. Bethany has vineyards in the Barossa and Eden Valleys. Exports to all major markets.

Bethany Wines has built a reputation as one of Australia's finest wine producers, underpinned by a strong sense of family tradition since the mid 1800s.

The Schrapel family first planted vines in 1852 soon after they arrived from Silesia abroad the 'George Washington'. More than a century later, fifth generation descendants, brothers Geoff and Robert Schrapel, established Bethany Wines.

Today, Bethany Wines is run by fifth and sixth generations of the Schrapel Family. The vines’ life cycle continues in much the same way as it always has – with minimal intervention, from vine to glass, to produce the best possible wines that are a true reflection of their natural terroir.
