Given the approach of owners Caroline and Jonathan O'Neill to the creation of Redfin, it comes as no surprise to find that Jonathan has been Plantagenet Wines' marketing manager for eight years, and in fact continues in that role. Wife Caroline (a pharmacist) also brings some expertise into the technical side of the venture. That said, they have neither vineyards nor winery, using contract growers in the Mount Barker region, and Plantagenet to make the wines. They have set themselves goals which any new winery venture could well adopt, number one being 'only produce what you can sell to make sure the brand doesn't become compromised'. They also believe that a little bit of fun should be part of the formula. Being true to the region, there are only two wines in the portfolio: Shiraz and Riesling.
