Possum Creek Vineyards

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

The Possum Creek Vineyards of today were planted by Murray and Lorraine Heidenreich in 1978. But the winery's history dates back to Murray's great-grandfather, Gottlieb Vorwerk, who was the first to plant vines on the property, in the 1860s. Those vines are no more, but the ownership of the property has remained in the family down the generations. Shiraz has the lion's share of the plantings with 11.4ha, followed by semillon (3.7ha), cabernet sauvignon (3.4ha), malbec and chardonnay (2ha each) and riesling (1ha). -JAMES HALLIDAY
