Saltram

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

Established in 1859, Saltram is one of the grand old Barossa marques with a rich history, Thomas Hardy having introduced the wines to the London market in the late 1800s. Some famous winemakers have tread the boards there over the years – Fred Ludlow, Bryan Dolan, Peter Lehmann and Nigel Dolan. The estate has been revitalised under Shavaughn Wells and current winemaker Alex MacKenzie and the portfolio includes many highlights from the stellar Saltram No. 1 through to the value-packed Pepperjack range (see separate entry). -DAVE BROOKES
