When Chris and Teresa Grigoriou established Portia Valley Wines in 2006, they brought four generations and 40 years of experience in the wine industry with them. The family's business of grapegrowing and winemaking have their roots in the Riverland of South Australia. They have 40ha of organic vineyards, but also purchase organic and non-organic grapes for their newly expanded winemaking pursuits. Their most recent addition to the winemaking side has been the purchase of grapes from McLaren Vale, Clare Valley and Coonawarra to make the Grigori Family Reserve wines. Exports to the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong, China and NZ.
With a focus on sustainability, Portia Valley Wines specialize in growing organic grapes and producing organic wine in the Riverland in South Australia, as well as producing wine from some of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions; Clare Valley, McLaren Vale and Coonawarra. Portia Valley Wines also owns and operates South Australian Wine Bottlers, a specialist in the supply and packaging of South Australian wine for buyers-own-brand and export markets. Portia Valley Wines was established by Chris and Teresa Grigoriou, Chris being a third generation viticulturist and wine producer and with over 35 years’ experience in the industry. Chris’s passion was always to establish a wine company and continue both his father’s and grandfather’s family tradition.
