Quiet Mutiny

Our Review

Owner and winemaker Greer Carland grew up on the Laurel Bank family property, learning to prune vines at an early age. She completed her oenology degree at the University of Adelaide in '00 and, after a few years of international vintages in Chile, France and the US and a short stint in WA, she returned to Tasmania in ’04. For the next 12 years she worked with Julian Alcorso at Winemaking Tasmania (now Tasmanian Vintners), also making the Laurel Bank wines. In ’16 she left to focus on making the family wines at Laurel Bank and to start her own label. The name Quiet Mutiny is a reference to Australia's first female pirate. She intends to secure land and establish a vineyard for Quiet Mutiny with her viticulturist husband Paul Smart. -JAMES HALLIDAY
