Gus del Rio, of Spanish heritage, established a vineyard in 1996 on the slopes of Mt Anakie, northwest of Geelong (chardonnay, pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, sauvignon blanc, shiraz, merlot and marsanne). The wines are made onsite in the fully equipped winery, which includes a bottling and labelling line able to process over 150t. The Hildegard Aura wines are a joint venture of Gus del Rio, John Durham and Doug Neal. Exports to Hong Kong and China.

del Rios is a family owned, vineyard, winery, restaurant, and tasting room established in 1996 on the slopes of an extinct volcano, Mt Anakie. del Rios has blended traditional influences with contemporary techniques to develop a vineyard and winery, where owner and winemaker Gus del Rio, produces a range of low yield, beautifully crafted wines. The wines are elegant, and complex, reflecting the true varietal character of the Mt Anakie site, in the Moorabool Valley region.

It is in our restaurant where the family philosophy of great wine, food and friends comes together in a wonderful setting only a 20-minute drive from Geelong. We boast indoor and outdoor dining with fabulous sweeping views of our vineyard with rolling hills as a backdrop. Our kitchen showcases the best of estate and local seasonal produce, blending both contemporary and traditional Spanish cuisine. On the Estate, we farm both Scottish Black Angus beef and Texel Friesian cross lamb. Just like with our wine, our ability to control the entire process allows us to produce excellent meat texture and taste in an environmentally friendly manner. The dining experience is unique offering the free-range pasture fed beef and lamb on the menu curated to complement our extensive and award winning del Rios wine portfolio. The tapas style menu is designed to be shared between family and friends.
