James' Review

Perth-born Adam Richardson began his winemaking career in 1995, along the way working for Normans, d’Arenberg and Oakridge Estate. Since that time he has held senior winemaking roles, ultimately with TWE America before moving back to Australia with wife Eva and children in late 2015. In 2005 he had put down roots in the Grampians region, establishing a vineyard with shiraz from old clones from the 19th century, and riesling. In ’12 he extended the vineyard plantings with tannat and nebbiolo. The wines are exceptionally good, and given his experience and the quality of the vineyard, that should not come as a surprise. He has also set up a wine consultancy business, drawing on experience that is matched by few consultants based in Australia. Exports to Europe.

Situated just outside the township of Great Western, A.T. Richardson Wines produces elegant and complex cool-climate wines.

After a 10-year search, International winemaker Adam Richardson selected the very special terroir of his Hard Hill Road Vineyard site for the production of his Chockstone and Hard Hill Road labels.

With its own special microclimate, the Hard Hill Road Vineyard’s cool ripening conditions and naturally low-yielding vines produce wines with layers of intense flavours and a velvety structure. Like many of the best wines in this historic region, A.T. Richardson’s wines are approachable in their youth, and possess the potential to age gracefully.

In A.T. Richardson Wines, you will taste the rich and enticing flavours of the Grampians and get caught up in the excitement of wine, adventure, and lifeTaste A.T. Richardson Wines and experience the best of wine, adventure, and life.
