Boroka

Victoria | Great Western

Our Review

The Boroka of today bears no resemblance to that of the late 1960s and ’70s, when its activities were centred on the foothills of the Grampians in western Victoria. David McCracken received support from Viv Thomson of Best’s and its then winemaker Trevor Mast. While the McCracken family moved from Great Western, and these days reside elsewhere, the connection with the region has been maintained through Hamish Seabrook, who not only makes the Boroka wines, but was a winemaker for Best’s before moving to the Barossa Valley, where he now lives and works. He sources grapes and wines from various parts of SA and Victoria for the Boroka brand. Exports to China and Korea. -JAMES HALLIDAY
