Geoff Alford commenced the establishment of the vineyard in Mt Strathbogie at Barjarg, around 30 km northwest of Mansfield, with the planting of 500 chardonnay vines in 1995. The estate has since grown to 6 ha, with the addition of pinot gris, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and nebbiolo; other local vineyards contribute shiraz, pinot noir and additional cabernet sauvignon. There is a complementary planting of olives. Part of the wine is made onsite, part offsite by MasterWineMakers.
