Di Sciascio Family Wines

Matthew Di Sciascio’s journey through wine has been an odyssey of Homeric proportions. His working life began as an apprentice boilermaker in his father’s business. After helping his father and friends with garage winemaking, the vinous pace increased in ’97 with vineyard work in the Yarra Valley and enrolment in Dookie Agricultural College’s viticultural course. It accelerated further with the establishment of Bellbrae Estate in Geelong and enrolling in ‘02 in the new Deakin University wine and science degree, graduating in ’05 as co-dux. In Dec ’10 the responsibility for seriously ill parents and a young daughter led to the decision to sell his share of Bellbrae to his financial partners, and (in ’12) to start this venture. -JAMES HALLIDAY
