Dr Ian Brammar, and wife Phillippa, have a tiny patchwork quilt vineyard planted to sauvignon blanc, semillon, pinot gris, gewurztraminer, chardonnay, verdelho, viognier, pinot noir, shiraz, merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. Given the tiny amounts planted, the blends of pinot gris and gewurztraminer; chardonnay and verdelho; sauvignon blanc and semillon; and merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc may not seem so quixotic. They say their aim is to specialise in small batches of red and white wines which are made entirely from estate-grown grapes, hand-picked, and fermented, matured, and bottled on the estate.
