Merum Estate stirred from slumber after morphing from grower and winemaker to pure grapegrowing after the 2006 vintage in '10. Another change in direction has since seen the sale of the Pemberton vineyard established by Mike Melsom, Mike's retirement and a restructure in partnership with the Capelli family (of The Lake House Denmark). -JAMES HALLIDAY
