Tony (Snake) Davis and Redmond (Herring) Sweeny both started university degrees before finding that they were utterly unsuited to their respective courses. Having stumbled across Margaret River,Tony's life changed forever; he enrolled at Adelaide University, thereafter doing vintages in the Eden Valley,Oregon,Beaujolais and Tasmania,before three years at Plantagenet, next Brown Brothers, then a senior winemaking role at Yalumba, a six-year stint designing Millbrook Winery in the Perth Hills, and four years with Howard Park in Margaret River. Redmond's circuitous course included a chartered accountancy degree and employment with an international accounting firm in Busselton, and the subsequent establishment of Forester Estate in 2001, in partnership with Kevin McKay. Back on home turf he is the marketing and financial controller of Snake + Herring. Exports to China.
