Riesling
The 2007 vintage was generally regarded as a difficult one for the variety, but prior vintages and many exceptions (this is, the '07s) led to a long list (too long to reproduce) of rieslings scorning 94 points (in addition to those wines listed below). A considerable number of these wines came from Western Australia and Tasmania. For the record, 51 wines scored 94 points. Eden Valley supplanted Clare Valley for the wines scoring 95 points or above, and once the 94-point wines were taken into account, there was a freakish three-way tie between the Eden Valley, Great Southern and Tasmania, each with 13 wines.
