Happy New Year to you all. We hope you had a pleasant festive season, a few of you will already know about this exciting development LAND to LOAF. At Wild Crust Bakery we have just taken delivery of a small flour mill (stone) and a large sack of freshly harvested wheat. We have already milled some of the wheat and produced a few 100% wholewheat sourdough loaves, very interesting flavours were produced.
LAND to LOAF is a day of Wheat, Bread, Food and Wine.
Date: Saturday 11th February 2012 Time: 11am 'til about 5pm Cost: $50 per person (numbers are limited)
Format for the day: 11am arrival, introduction, milling demonstration this freshly milled flour will then be mixed into a dough, by Lyn Cunningham sourdough baker. Our wheat farmer Ian Christoe will talk about his wheat farm in Undera (Shepparton area). Lunch, pizza (of course), a glass of wine. Winemaker Philip Lobley will talk about his wines and vineyard. Bread will then be baked in the woodfired oven.
