The world’s best label in 2011 was designed and printed in Adelaide for an Australian Shiraz.
The Alpha Crucis 2008 Shiraz label won the best label in Australia before beating the best from Europe, the United States of America and Australasia to be judged the best in the world by the World Label Award Association.
This win is a huge accolade for printing company Studio Labels, who prints around 70 per cent of South Australia’s wine labels.
Studio Labels Managing Director Miguel Alemao said, ‘this award is the culmination of seven years’ work and the dedication to excellence by our staff’.
‘The award recognises the technical quality of the printing, and we are proud we can say we make the best in the world right here in Adelaide’, Mr Alemao said. ‘It makes us even happier to know this particular label is aesthetically beautiful and from a local SA winery’.
Studio Labels is owned by Portuguese company Cork Supply Group.
This award endorses our strategy at Studio Labels to pursue quality and excellence at a time when much of the industry is looking to cut corners. We believe the wine industry needs to strive for quality, and focussing on brand development will be the best strategy in the long run.
The Alpha Crucis label was designed by MOTIV design and it is the flagship wine for McLaren Vale’s Chalk Hill Winery.
Alpha Crucis is the name of the brightest star in the Southern Cross constellation.
