Not as good as Jaboulet's celebrated La Chappelle, but not bad either. Indeed, its pretty damn good, holding its colour well, both in depth and hue. Supple and smooth on entry to the mouth, the tannins make their presence felt on the back-palate, albeit in a genteel fashion, simply completing the picture. The flavours are of dark cherry, verging on confit, but sustained by warm spices, a hint of earth and a leather/earth undertone. Still very much alive, it will live for another decade, but — of course — won't improve with further cellaring.
