Why has the iPhone application been removed?
The free James Halliday iPhone application provided access to winery information and not specific tasting notes. It was primarily developed as a functional application when planning winery touring, however the overwhelming response from users was that they wanted access to tasting notes rather than winery information. Therefore the current application was removed from circulation in October, 2009. We are committed to the project and will continue to investigate methods of delivery to portable devices, however a revised James Halliday iPhone app cannot be guaranteed in the short term. Alternatively, we have spent some time and are continuing to spend time optimizing our website for viewing in a mobile device, making that a potential interim solution.
