Tony and Jill Bryant were broadacre farmers who had a long-held dream of having a vineyard and winery. Following the sale of the family farm in the 1990s Tony studied viticulture and marketing, and went on to manage wineries in the Mudgee area, before starting his own viticultural consultancy business. In 2004 he and Jill were able to take the final step by purchasing Burnbrae, and acquiring the services of industry veteran Frank Newman as winemaker. Burnbrae also provides contract winemaking services for others, and Tony is currently president of the Mudgee Wine and Grape Growers Association. Exports to Singapore.

When Tony and Jill Bryant purchased Burnbrae, as they recognised the vineyard possessed the characteristics they believed would produce the most exceptional wines. One of the oldest vineyards in Mudgee dating back to 1968, Burnbrae’s ‘old vines’ offered the opportunity to create some special wines with “regionality and originality.” This opinion was shared by winemaker Frank Newman, who has 40 years of experience and sports an encyclopaedia-like mind on Oenology and a delightfully dry sense of humour. Their shared philosophy is to always maintain the integrity of each Boutique wine with individual focus on nurturing each vintage to bring out its finest features. All estate fruit is hand picked and crafted with the greatest care. Add to this a gorgeous picturesque setting, rustic Cellar Door, charming Winemakers Cottage and you have Burnbrae.
