The Berton Vineyard partners – Bob and Cherie Berton, Paul Bartholomaeus, James Ceccato and Jamie Bennett – have almost 100 years’ combined experience in winemaking, viticulture, finance, production and marketing. 1996 saw the acquisition of a 30-ha property in the Eden Valley and the planting of the first vines. It took two years for the dam to fill, and the vines struggled on the white rock soil. This is only a small part of the business, which sources bulk wine from regions across South Eastern Australia.Wines are released under the FoundStone, Head Over Heels and Berton Vineyard (varietals, Soldier Farms and Reserve) labels Exports to the UK, the US and other major markets.
