The best wines to emanate from the Hanwood winery are from other regions, notably the Barwang Vineyard at Hilltops (see separate entry), Coonawarra (Brand’s Laira),Yarra Valley, Tumbarumba and Eden Valley. As McWilliam’s viticultural resources have expanded, it has been able to produce regional blends from across Australia of startlingly good value. The 2006 sale of McWilliam’s Yenda winery to Casella has led to a major upgrade in both the size and equipment at the Hanwood winery, now the nerve centre of the business. Exports to all major markets via a major distribution joint venture with Gallo and PLB Group.
