Helen Hale purchased Diamond Creek Estate in late 2002, by which time the chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, riesling, pinot noir and cabernet sauvignon planted in 1997 by the prior owner had come into bearing. The vineyard is established at 680 m on rich basalt soil, the north-facing slope being relatively frost-free. Since Helen acquired the property, some of the grapes have been sold to Southern Highlands Winery, but most have been retained for release under the Diamond Creek Estate label: these include Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and the highly successful Noble Diamond. This vineyard is uniquely situated on the northern slopes of the Southern Highlands, some 120 kms from Sydney at an altitude of 680 metres which is ideal to produce premium cool climate wines.We are a family business and committed to our passion of producing the best cool climate wines from start to finish, we also make extra virgin olive oil called SHO (Southern Highlands Olive Oil) we have 1250 olive trees on the property, these include Mission, Manzanillo and Barnea varieties, also available to taste and purchase.DCE wines are available in many restaurants in both Sydney and the Southern Highlands region. Eschalot Restaurant in Berrima awarded one Chefs Hat, Craigieburn, Montfort's and La Scala and CBD to name just a few. Fine Dining all meat and seafood dishes are well suited to our varieties of wine.
