Our Review
Michael Sexton grew up on the property and graduated in oenology from the University of Adelaide in '03. Grapes from the existing shiraz plantings were sold to other wineries but in ’10 the first single vineyard Shiraz was made and the Main & Cherry brand name chosen. Since then plantings of bush-vine grenache and mataro have been made. The business has grown with the purchase of an established vineyard in Clarendon planted to 2.4ha of shiraz and 0.9ha of grenache (the plantings at the Cherry Gardens Vineyard consist of 0.8ha shiraz and 0.2ha each of mataro and grenache). -JAMES HALLIDAY
