David and Mardi Hall purchased the historic Avon Brae estate in 1996. The 120-ha property has been planted to cabernet sauvignon (the lion’s share with 13 ha), riesling (9.2 ha), shiraz (5.7 ha) and smaller plantings of merlot, cabernet franc and viognier. The majority of the production is contracted to Yalumba, St Hallett and McGuigan Simeon, with 10% of the best grapes held back for the Eden Hall label. The Riesling, Shiraz Viognier and Cabernet Sauvignon are all excellent, the red wines outstanding. Exports to the US, Malaysia and China.
