Heggies was the second of the high-altitude (570 m) vineyards established by the Hill Smith family. Plantings on the 120-ha former grazing property began in 1973; the principal varieties are riesling, chardonnay, viognier and merlot. There are then two special plantings: a 1.1-ha reserve chardonnay block, and 27 ha of various clonal trials. Exports to all major markets.
