Age and experience, it would seem, have mellowed Roman Bratasiuk – and the style of his wines. Once formidable and often rustic, they are now far more sculpted and smooth, at times bordering on downright elegance. Roman has taken another major step by purchasing a 160- ha property high in the hill country of Clarendon at an altitude close to that of the Adelaide Hills. Here he has established a vineyard with single-stake trellising similar to that used on the steep slopes of Germany and Austria, which produces the Domaine Clarendon Syrah. He makes up to 20 different wines each year, all consistently good, a tribute to the old vines. Exports to the US and other major markets.

We hand-source very old, very special, pre-phylloxera bush vines and we make our wine by hand, using only natural processes. By doing so, we strive to express the unique varietal imprint of a vineyard. Every step of the winemaking process is undertaken by a small team of five people, with a collective 50 years vintage experience. It is the pride, experience and professionalism of our team that ensures we continue to produce some of the world's finest wines.
