The definitive guide to Australian Wines
This is the venture of Anthony (Tony) and Krystina De Lisio, focused primarily on McLaren Vale Shiraz and Grenache, the exceptions being a Southern Fleurieu Pinot Grigio and a four-varietal blend red (Quarterback), which provide the major part of the volume of De Lisio Wines. Tony has many years? experience as a viticulturist and vineyard manager in McLaren Vale,and has been able to source grapes grown just north of McLaren Vale township, at Clarendon, Blewitt Springs, Kangarilla and McLaren Flat. The overall style of the wines is strongly oriented to the US, to which a significant part of the production is exported. The style is achieved through very ripe grapes from low-yielding, mainly old vines, which are open-fermented and barrel-aged in predominantly French oak for up to 22 months. Exports to the US, Canada, Denmark, Singapore, Hong Kong and China.
