The Wine Doctor

The Wine Doctor is the brand name of Resveratrol Wines Pty Ltd, a joint venture between Dr Philip Norrie, former owner of Pendarves Estate (which has now been sold, though he retains the Pendarves brand name, currently inactive) and Tony Yen. The wines are contract-made in McLaren Vale, which is likely to be the base for the foreseeable future. Their resveratrol content has been boosted to 100 mg/l, compared to the trace elements normally found in white wine, and much lower levels in red wines. Researchers are still divided on the cardiovascular protective effects of resveratrol, although it is true much of the debate concerns the extent of the effect, and the absence of large scale epidemiological trials.
